In a new multimedia series, EUCAB pursues a simple, but often overlooked, objective: listening. Every day, behind every project, initiative, and headline result, customs agents act — facing challenges, constantly adapting, coming up with creative solutions to solve problems. “A Day in the Life of…” is about spotlighting them.
Through short documentary-style reports, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage, we’ll follow professionals to get a more grounded picture of what different customs professions really involve. In their own environments, hearing from their expertise, resilience, and everyday imagination, EUCAB creates an opportunity to ground its knowledge and cooperation activities into lived experience and know-how.
What are recurrent friction points, what patterns emerge, what initiative works and what solution failed?
With the help from national experts from the EUCAB Communication network, the collected insights are there to help EUCAB prioritize its activities, refine guidance and training, share tools and good practices to feed continuous improvement. The addition of practical wisdom is a complementary way to build a shared customs culture of practice, foster mutual recognition and a sense of common purpose, thus strengthening cooperation beyond simple coordination.
“A Day in the Life of…” series is launched on September 15, 2026. Its episodes will be released regularly on EUCAB’s website:
