๐ช๐บ On the 13th and 14th of January 2026, the Customs Administration of the Netherlands in Rotterdam set the stage for the first in-person Risk Management Network meeting under #EUCAB.
๐ The meeting brought together representatives from the vast majority of EU Member States, highlighting the strong commitment to collaboration in the field of customs risk management.
๐บ๏ธ Participants were presented with the risk management mapping carried out by EUCAB experts, based on the valuable contributions by the Member States.ย This mapping provides an important overview and analysis of current practices and approaches across the EU and serves as a strong foundation for future cooperation.

๐ฉ In addition, the meeting facilitated engaging discussions on best practices and key challenges related to risk management, e-commerce, and innovative approaches to strengthening risk management frameworks.
๐ก Growth in trade and travel volumes, as well as increasing uncertainty, require that customs administrations devise solid ways to assess and manage risks. To better identify and treat risks, there is a growing need to define shared approaches and methods, and EUCAB is the right framework to achieve this objective at EU level.
๐ค The Risk Management Network is an essential link towards developing a common intelligence-based risk management approach. On the one hand, it will favour addressing risks in all relevant areas and as early as possible in the supply chain. On the other hand, it will aim to create a flexible framework to be adapted to different operating environments and every particular context of EU Member States.
๐ณ๐ฑ A big thank you to the Customs Administration of the Netherlands for hosting the meeting and to all participants for their active contributions. EUCAB looks forward to continuing the collaboration and building on the outcomes of this important first in-person exchange.
